PNOC

BONGAO, Tawi-Tawi – Recognizing its crucial role in advancing the province’s economic growth, investment potential, and energy development, the Provincial Government of Tawi-Tawi honored PNOC during this year’s MANGgagawa Award, held on February 26, 2025.

Now in its fifth year, the event was spearheaded by Governor Yshmael “Mang” I. Sali, who recognized 185 key institutions and organizations for their dedication and hard work in achieving “Gobyernong Kasali ang Lahat”—a governance philosophy that promotes inclusivity, collaboration, and shared responsibility in the province’s development.

In his message, Governor Sali expressed appreciation for the invaluable contributions of the awardees. “Let us remember that the impact of our work does not lie in the recognition we receive but in the heart we have, the communities we reach, and the lives we change. After all, government work is about serving our people,” he emphasized.

He likewise urged collective participation in driving continuous and sustainable development in one of the country’s farthest island provinces.

The event was graced by Vice Governor Al-Syed “Alas” A. Sali, municipal mayors of Tawi-Tawi, board members, representatives from various institutions within the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, as well as government and private sector leaders who have been instrumental in propelling the province’s progress, united by a shared vision of inclusive and sustainable development.

On February 5, 2025, PNOC President Oliver B. Butalid led the unveiling of the Self-Generating Industrial Park in Barangay Pababag, Bongao, bringing key stakeholders and potential investors to the province. This initiative is part of PNOC’s goal to support innovative and cost-effective energy solutions for Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas, particularly off-grid islands in the Visayas and Mindanao regions.
