Key processes under review focused on financial management, human resources, and administrative operations, covering areas such as cash advances, liquidation, reimbursements, ticketing system and website administration, employee hiring, procurement, and events management. The workshop aimed to streamline workflows, remove inefficiencies, and ensure that PNOC’s Quality Management System (QMS) becomes a tool for continuous improvement.
PNOC President and CEO Oliver Butalid stressed that fostering entrepreneurship within organization requires more than just rhetoric, but should be systematically integrated into operations. “There are the three things that will make us entrepreneurial—the scorecards, QMS, and a very, very aligned budget,” he noted.
Another highlight of the workshop was the integration of AI-driven solutions into business processes, which intends to systematize tasks and enhance internal customer service. In this line, PNOC is set to collaborate with experts in AI applications to drive the company’s digital transformation agenda.
A process mapping session was conducted to define interconnected processes and enhance operational efficiency. With a focus on value engineering, the session aimed to update and improve process workflows.
“There’s always something that can be improved, but yet comply with government statutes. That is the thing that we are searching for endlessly. What is the best way to comply with government regulations in a way that will make the internal customers happy today, happier tomorrow,” PCEO Butalid added.
Following the workshop, PNOC will embark on a two-month implementation phase of the refined processes starting in March. These improvements will set the stage for an internal audit in the second Quarter of 2025.
